Spiritual Direction
Hospitable, confidential, and grounded in biblical principles, spiritual direction is a sacred space that helps you grow in your practice of prayer, allowing you to live into your calling as a follower of Christ. Spiritual direction aids in helping you discern God’s presence and action in your life in order to find greater clarity and freedom. Spending time with a Spiritual Director involves entering into a listening relationship. The Spiritual Director is trained to listen to your story and help you see the presence of God in your life. Then together we listen to the Holy Spirit’s guidance as transformational work begins to unfold. We will work together in creating space to open up to God’s presence and to a deepening discernment for how to live life with purpose and meaning.
Contemplative Life is one rooted in the practices of silence, stillness, and solitude. It is through these practices that I believe we are able to live and serve from a place of overflow, honoring the way that Jesus taught us through his life and ministry. Our time together will include silence. Understanding that human complexity and the busyness of our world sometimes can make this practice difficult to learn, we will also be sharing thoughts, desires, and prayers–honoring the beauty of Semi-Silent space!
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Matthew 11:28-30 MSG

Somatic Experiencing
Trauma and the everyday stress of living in a culture that is always “on” can interfere with our spiritual practice. Soul care in the form of silence, solitude, or stillness is very difficult to do when our internal world is screaming. Unfinished business comes up when we quiet ourselves without numbing. If you know there are things you need to work out and experience some healing from, reaching out for help can be the best first step toward caring for your soul. Acknowledging you might need the support of a pastor, therapist, or spiritual director can open doors towards becoming all God created you to be.
Somatic Experiencing is a modality that helps work with the stuck energy of trauma in the body in a way that is supported and titrated in order to not re-traumatize the individual. Linda has completed a three year program in Somatic Experiencing™ and is working on finalizing her SEP. To learn more about somatic experiencing visit traumahealing.org.
